Start off the new year with a polished style that will strengthen your nails while still looking totally fab. Polish lovers everywhere are flocking to shades that pack nutritive properties, so we’re sharing a few of our favorites this month. As with most products, nail polish is one that’s getting smarter as the technology improves. Now there are plenty of 3-free and 5-free options that work well while limiting the number of chemicals one is exposed to on a day-to-day basis.
Not only are there less manufactured chemicals, but many polishes now offer a variety of additional properties. Essie, for instance, recently launched a Treat Love & Color collection. As of publication, the color palette for these has been limited to pale, natural shades that stay close to skin tones.
Essie explains that the collection is infused with collagen and camellia extract with a breathable formula that helps to restore brittle, dry nails. It’s a 1-step treatment that works instantly to improve nails above and below the surface. They boast that after one use, nails will be stronger and more protected from future breakage. It’s hard to say no to the promise of a better looking manicure.
Starting in January, they’ll be launching four shades that are oh-so-trendy for winter. In A Blush and Good Lighting are the two most nude, with In A Blush taking an ivory hue with a hint of pink. Good Lighting is aptly described as a caramel toned café au lait. For a traditional option, Pinked To Perfection is a pale-pink that’s feminine and sophisticated with a muted, subtle warmth. On The Mauve, one of our standouts in the line, is a purple toned gray.
