Just in time for wedding season, Essie introduces a new collection in collaboration with internationally renowned designer Reem Acra. The six new shades are stunning additions to the gel couture long wear line. They follow in the tradition of Acra’s beloved design aesthetic — magical realism fused with feminine, romantic, and modern flare. She’s most well known for her use of intricate embroidery—which is visible in her choice of colors.
Acra explained that she equated the collection to the delight of peeking inside a jewelry box. “Partnering with Essie, I was able to bring my bridal design aesthetic to life. I dreamed this Essie gel couture wedding collection up as a royal affair – a grand party celebrating a big day. A bride and the women closest to her are gathered together before the ceremony begins. With so much excitement and anticipation ahead, they all agree to wear one gel couture shade just for the special occasion – a secret only they can share.”
We’ve been huge fans of the gel contour line since its launch, the formula is incredibly durable and when used with the platinum grade finish top coat, it has on of the longest wear times of any of its peers. All of the shades in this particular collection are perfect for this season — with the metallic hints being very on trend. For us, the two standouts were Moments To Mrs., an orchid shade with iridescent glitter that reminded us of Sailor Moon, and Handmade Of Honor, a charming rose gold.
