Whether it’s a tinder meet up or you’re headed out with your girls, we’ve got the styles to keep you looking fresh.
Kerry Washington’s simple curls are an easy and elegant look perfect for first impressions. To get the style, start with a good heat protectant like this one from Shea Moisture. Use a 2” or larger curling iron and curling hair in sections rolling away from the face. Once the hair has cooled, gently separate the curls to create easy waves. If you’re using a weave, look for one of Kerry’s highlights pre-done to save yourself some time. We’re loving the Prestige One Remy New Yaky by Janet Collection for recreating this look.
We’re so in love with Elisa Perry ’s look from the 23rd Critics Choice awards. It’s stylish, sophisticated, and fun, everything you want in a date night look. To get the look, try the easy, breezy Kima Kalon’s medium 10” crochet extensions by Harlem 125. To retreat the slight mohair look, pull up your sides and add the extensions only around the top of your head. Separate the curls and go. If using your natural hair, or if you’re using human hair extensions, make sure to add some curl defining moisture so your curls stay defined throughout your day.
Carmen Ejogo’s short style is sweet, feminine, and classic all at the same time. We love that it’s a low-maintenance look that’s still glam. The easiest way to get this look is to simply try a similar wig. Fortunately, since this is a classic popular style there are hundreds to choose from. We really love these two from Bobbi Boss, which are not quite the same. Denna is a little longer, but has the same deep side part and waves we love. In this mixed blue shade, you get an even trendier take. Logan keeps the length of Ejogo’s look, but adds a more dynamic curl pattern with extra volume for a flirty take.
When Cardi B stepped out with this glamorous updo at Rihanna’s Diamond Ball, it was love at first sight. For an elegant evening out, there’s nothing better than this. To get the look, start with your hair sleek and straight. Apply a high gloss heat protectant to give you extra shine then part hair at the center. Leaving the front strands loose, pull the hair into a ponytail at the base of the neck and secure. Twist half into a loose bun, secure with pins. Twist the other half up around the first bun covering the base of the pony. Secure it all with pins and pull to loosen and adjust. Using a wide curling iron, add some texture to the front pieces.
Because this style is so sleek at the top, if using extensions consider options that lay very flat. Sapphire Smart Weft by Vivica Fox Hair Collections is a perfect option for this look.
