The motto of Fall Winter season 2019/2020 is “Art in makeup and fashion”. We are featuring some of the top trends that we will see on the catwalk for the Fall Winter collections across London, New York and Paris Fashion Weeks. Not only in terms of fashion, but also in makeup, shows by new and established designers are leading the way. Often spotted are dark red tones on the lips, blushing peachy pink on the eyelids and cheeks, as well as the bold pop of colour or even the no-makeup look. In addition, we see bright electric colours clashing with neutrals, which creates a contrast just like street style clashes with polished elegance. With a few tips and tricks, these makeup looks are easy to recreate in everyday life.
Silver Swagger vs. Millennial Style
One of the big trends not only on the catwalks, but also in print and online advertising, is the positioning of older generation models as an opposition to the 20-something year olds’ approach to fashion and beauty. With this, designers like Junya Watanabe. want to encourage people of all ages to be bold and experiment with their timeless looks. The same goes for the skin care and makeup. To ensure a youthful yet authentic looking skin even at the age of 50+, create a morning and evening skin care routine. Apply a regenerating face oil, a firming moisturizer or an illuminating eye cream that will help rejuvenate the skin but still keep it natural looking. To even out the complexion, apply a tinted moisturizing cream with SPF – the sun can cause skin irritations and premature wrinkling even during fall and winter. Keep the silver swagger on and show those millennials who is the best!
Punk’s not dead!
Fall Winter 19/20 fashion catwalks promise a variety of colourful combinations across eyes, lips, hair and cheeks. We can also see a massive throwback to London and New York Fashion Weeks 18/19 fall season, for example Zadig & Voltaire or Christopher Kane.
To complement the dominating colours on the clothes, such as red, yellow, black, white and grey, the makeup of 19/20 will be just as daring. The red lip is a timeless, classic feature that keeps coming back every season and on every catwalk. For Fall Winter it will still hold a prominent place, but accompanied by some other lip shades like a dark berry, deep brown or matte ruby – inspired by Baroqco Haute Couture. This lip goes perfect with another style trend – punk/grunge. It is best complemented by a black or silver eyeliner to accentuate the cat eye and emphasize the grunge look. Slicked back hair, thick full eyebrows and a shade of green are IN this Fall Winter season, just like the camouflage look is back on the catwalk and in the street style.
50 Shades of Pink
You can also go on the soft side, like Le Metamorphose show, by applying peach blush or a rosy pigment on both the eyelids and the cheeks to create a continuous look with a sheer finish. This look goes great with a bright complexion and illuminating contours, so apply highlighter and bronzer to top off the look.
Fashion and makeup for the Fall Winter season are defined by art and cultural revolution, according to Louis Vuitton’s Paris Haute Couture 19/20 collection, and we’d love to see what other trends will be brought back from the past!
